I
love to read
...and play
...and dream.
Do you?

When I was a kid I loved to read. It didn't
matter which book, as long as the story was good. If I wasn't reading,
you could find me outside with my
cousins.
We played kickball or hide-and-seek or jacks. Just as much fun was
taking pretend trips from the overgrown garden in front of my apartment
building to faraway, imaginary places.
I still love those faraway, imaginary places
and, now as a writer, I get to take my readers along.
Close by and real is fun too. The animals
that you see here are part of my family. Manny, short for Man's Best
Friend, because he was the friendliest pup I ever met, is the Labrador
Retriever.
He
sings with a bone in his mouth every time we come home or someone
visits. Logun is the Yorkshire Terrier with one floppy ear. He lived
until he was almost 20 years old, which is 140 human years. I still
miss his kisses. Tweety is a blue parakeet. She does tricks and says,
"Thank you, I love you."
Other
characters
appear and say hello. People have told each other stories about them
for many centuries. If they come from myths, they are thousands of
years old. Imagine that!
